5 reasons why Brentford is a great office location

New developments in Brentford continue to change the scene after corporate leaders including GlaxoSmithKline and SEGA Europe set up headquarters in the now, ‘digital mega-suburb’. Despite this ideal location benefiting from easy connections to central London and Heathrow, it is still being undervalued compared to nearby areas such as Kew and Chiswick. Not many know about its charming vantage point that includes canal boats on the River Thames, Gunnersbury Park, leafy streets, Syon House, Brentford Waterside, the M4 motorway as well as direct transport links to Heathrow Airport and Waterloo Station. The Mille has been an integral part of Brentford’s transformation into a remarkable location for young and aspiring business professionals. Continue reading here, our 5 reasons why Brentford is a great office location.

Transport

The Mille office building allows quick access to Brentford train station by foot or enjoy a scenic 10-minute walk to Boston Manor underground station. Get to the tube even faster by bus, which stops just a 3 minutes' walk from the building. Direct rail lines to Clapham Junction and Waterloo station run often (every 15 minutes). There’s no rush to get to and from the airport, with a direct train ride to Heathrow Airport taking only about 17 minutes.

Parks and Recreation

If you’re looking for a green space for relaxing picnics and breath-taking views, you need not go far. St. Paul’s Recreation Ground and Griffin Park, which hosts the Brentford Football Club, offers fresh air for any passers-by. If you don’t mind walking a little further for some fresh green space, Boston Manor Park, Syon Park and Kew Gardens are close neighbours to the Mille.

Food and Drinks

There’s a great variety of cuisines around Brentford. Craving a curry? Stop by the Albany Spice a traditional Indian dish. Alternatively, try The Weir bar’s new Christmas menu, or sign up for a wine and cheese tasting session. Galata Pera offers Turkish hospitality and fantastic views across the River Thames, while the Magpie and Crown offers a great selection of beers for a reasonable price. You’ll be spoilt for both culinary and beverage choices across the mix of waterfront views and park-side scenery.

Brentford Waterside

Brentford sits along the River Thames, making it a scenic hotspot for workers on break and tourists alike. Canal boats offer both an interesting sight to behold, as well as a potential walking destination with the Brentford canal walk gifting walkers with lovely views of the local area. The river and canal host a number of wildlife to admire, including both moorhen and heron water birds. The Brentford waterside is offering a selection of new shops and restaurants, as well as new homes for the ever-growing community.

Entertainment

Cut out the middle man by visiting one of the farmer’s stalls in Brentford Market, or alternatively visit one of the many, ever-changing “fast-food” trucks if you fancy a special treat. Film-lovers can support the Watermans Art Centre, a great independent cinema showing films for as little as £5; they also offer regular children’s theatre programming and special events, as well as a year-round new media art exhibition.
